I did think on Saturday (my first and as it happens my last blog to date) that I would be able to post a blog on a daily basis. But no, Sunday and Monday found me severely incapacitated. And it wasn't just a hangover from Saturday's over indulgences - it is a bug and I'm still suffering.
I wondered when I rang in to work yesterday, whether they'd believe me or put it down to an overwhelming lack of interest on my part now that I've been granted voluntary redundancy! Oh what a relief that is! Imagine, I'll get enough money to paint and repair the outside of the house, put in central heating, pay of my debts and still have some money to SAVE!! Me with savings!! I'll still need to find a part time job, but just think, I'll have the luxury of choosing something just for the afternoons - and get to spend mornings in bed!!
For a single lady on her own, in her late fifties, and earning just about enough to get by (without mortgage rises I might add!) the sheer relief in finding myself no longer having to worry about keeping the roof over my head in good repair is an absolute blessing.
I've already started to look at all the websites with jobs down here in the South West even though I won't finish my current job until March. What a choice for those of us who don't need to earn a fortune, who don't have a career to service, who don't mind what we do, who have a wide range of experience!! I could be a 'Nettler'. A 'what' I hear you cry! 'Tis the person who wraps Cornish Yarg cheese in nettle leaves. (Go out and buy some Cornish Yarg cheese - I'll bet the maker has a web site.) And if all else fails, I could offer my services to several of the advertisers on the jobs page of the This Is Cornwall web site - they need someone who understands something of the complexities of grammar and spelling.
Nuff for now.

A Beginning
Sat looking at the screen for a few minutes there, unsure what to do! Such a lot of ground covered since Christmas when this laptop was delivered by one of Santa's little elves. (Well, he was short, rounded and had a big grin!)
Trouble is now I've got it - a 'blog' that is! - not quite sure what I'm supposed to do. Write something, 'muse' as the title suggests. My chance to discover the grumpy old woman in me.
That will have to do for now - some of us have to ring for a taxi for this evening's outing (local restaurant but my shoes of choice don't allow for the twenty minute walk into town!) soak in the bath (oh the aches and pains of the ageing body after 4 hours standing up in the local fashion store!) and immerse myself in sufficient exotic perfume to blow 'em dead despite the wrinkles.
See you soon, have a lovely evening.
